The techniques and processes that you learn on the course can be practiced at home every day

What is taught on the Art of Living course?
A broad range of processes are introduced during the course including:
Sudarshan Kriya®: a powerful breathing technique reintroduced to the world by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

Pranayama: breathing is normally an unconscious process. Through the practice of pranayama's, you will learn to consciously govern the breath so that it brings harmony into your body, mind and spirit.

All of the techniques and processes that you learn on the course can be practiced at home every day.

How long have the courses been taught?
The Art of Living Foundation was founded by His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar 26 years ago. Since that time, over 20 million people worldwide, from different backgrounds, religions and cultures have taken Art of Living courses.

I have a specific medical ailment, is it recommended I take the course?
If you have medical condition, are on medication, are pregnant, or have any injury, bad back or other health issue you are concerned about, please speak to the course organiser or a teacher before registering for the course to obtain specific advice.

How long is the PartI course and may I miss a session if I cannot attend due to prior committments?
The courses generally run over 6 days: 4 evenings + a weekend; or 5 evenings + a Saturday or Sunday. You cannot miss any of the sessions - you will lose out on the benefits of the course. Each day builds on the last and the results are cumulative. If you cannot attend all sessions, speak to the course organiser or teacher ASAP about rescheduling a course more convenient to you.

Do I need to bring anything when I come for a Part I course or do you provide everything?
We recommend you bring a yoga mat, shawl and maybe a cushion if you're not used to sitting on the floor. Also a bottle of water and a pen and notebook if you wish.
