2.5million people from over 145 countries attended the Foundation's Silver Jubilee celebrations, held in Bangalore in February 2006
The Art of Living Foundation is an international non-profit, educational, charitable and humanitarian NGO, dedicated to creating peace and fostering human values.
Founded by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, our innovative personal & social programmes aim to eliminate stress, create a sense of belonging, restore human values, and encourage people from all backgrounds, religions, and cultural traditions to come together in celebration and service in the global community.
As a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), the Foundation works in special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, participating in a variety of committees and activities relating to health, education, sustainable development, conflict resolution and disaster relief efforts.
The organisation has developed at an exceptional rate. Regarded as the fastest growing NGO by the United Nations, the Foundation is also one of the largest volunteer based organisation in the world. In just 25 years, 20 million people have benefited from its programmes which are conducted in over 145 countries across the globe.
The Art of Living is not a religious organisation, it works hard to encourage people from all backgrounds, cultural traditions, ages and genders, across the world, to come together and make life a celebration.
The cornerstone of the many Art of Living courses is the unique technique taught on the Part I Course, the Sudarshan Kriya®.
Developed by Sri Sri, the Sudarshan Kriya is a special breathing technique which it is believed works to trigger the mind and body to release stress. This powerful practice has a profound effect on the mind, body and spirit.
